How Your Children Can Benefit From Montessori Education

By Marguerite Stanton

Personal development rather than high score cards is the main focus of Montessori Toronto. It is believed that this method of education produces better individuals. The activities are geared toward enhancing maturity, creativity, social dealings among children.

This is good because this is what the country needs, people with high emotional quotient. The high statistics of suicide and depression in the country is brought about by the lack of development in this part of a person's life. Us psychologists agree that children schooled in this manner performs better in life than those children with traditional education.

They notice that their children integrate with society very well. Kids who were normally shy around with people are now seen interacting comfortably with the others. The kids are also showing good progress in academic classes, reporting high grade scores. Not only that, these kids are now exhibiting talents and skills parents never knew they had.

These are just some of the developments found in children sent to these schools. Psychologists discovered that these kids survive better in life than others. With the rising figures of teen suicide, parents have recognized the necessity of this kind teaching in life.

US psychologists agree that high emotional quotient is more important than intelligent quotient or IQ. More than half of life involves testing the person's emotional tenacity. And success in life is achieved by using one's sound judgment.

In Maria's time, children of all ages were placed in the same classes. The age difference did not matter because each child was given individual lessons according to his needs, talents and skills. The set up promotes a healthy collaboration among children, in which the young learns something from the old ones. At the same time, the older ones, aside from learning something from the younger pupils, had the opportunity to teach and guide the young ones in certain activities.

Montessori Toronto can be small, big, private or public. The decision which school to send your child is clearly up to. However, research what the school can offer.
