Department of Child Support: 3 Things You Can Learn Now Or Pay Later

By Rey Lewis

Although the bulk of us are living in the digital age somebody failed to tell that to the department of child support. This has to be the most unorganized organisation that I have ever faced in my life.

Get Targeted And Do It Yourself

Many times couples find themselves having to cope with child support as a last resort. Somewhere along the way couples get caught up in seeking revenge on one another and the kid ends up caught in the middle of an all out war. My first recommendation is to attempt to workout some sort of agreement with one another.

You're going to have to set aside your differences. Remember, this isn't about you it is about the life that you and your better half have made together.

Neutral Party Participation

No matter how hard you try the pair of you can't sit in the same room while not trying to kill each other. It is advised that you seek out a 3rd neutral party that the two of you agree upon and try to work things out. This can be a mutual friend, or a professional.

It is vital to be prepared before you sit down and debate any type of agreement. Ensure that the focus of the discussion stays on the child. You'll wish to cover such points as monthly allotment, health insurance, food, clothing schooling for example. Although in the heat of battle full custody sounds a bit like a brilliant idea, it sometimes ends up injuring the child in the long run.

Nothing Is Working

You've tried everything and nothing appears to be working. You are forced to take it to court, and ultimately child support. From my private experience and helping loads of others over time I will say that child support tends to favor the mother of the kid. If you are the father it is usually recommended that you have a lawyer handle your side of things. That is the only way that I have ever seen someone get a fair agreement.

Final Words of Wisdom

If at all possible it is recommended that you and your partner work things out. Once you are in the system its always a hassle and a huge invasion into your life by strangers that do not care about you what-so-ever.
