By Ann Jordan

There are many recreational activities that you and your family and friends can do during the weekend. These activities may end up becoming your hobbies as time goes by. With the long list of activities that you may try, maybe it has been difficult for you to choose one. In a case like this, you may want to try one that is quite unique such a doing a laser tag in Dallas.

For those who are unaware, lasertag is the term given to a sport wherein the goal is to hit targets to gain some points. This game can take place outside or inside a building by one player or a team. The device needed to play this game is hand held such as an infrared targeting device and targets that are also infrared sensitive.

This has been played by people of different ages. This is less painful compared to paint ball since it does not make use of any physical projectiles. The indoor versions are also less exhausting and demanding because most of them does not allow running at all. In the past few years since it was invented, it has evolved as part of the tactical configurations in competitive sporting events. However, as what was being said, you and your friends can also do this strictly for fun only.

Historical records say that this activity was developed in 1979 following the production of the first ever toy using infrared light coupled with a sensor. The said toy was also known as one the guns inside made out of inspiration from the film Star Trek. In 1982, George Carter III was able to create systems that were arena based that record scores.

Carter was also the man who made the opening of the Photon Center in Dallas possible. The name Photon was what he called the very first lasertag arenas that were commercial. His contributions to the said industry was also awarded by lasertag associations worldwide. Not only that, he was also named as the founder as well as the inventor of the sport.

To understand this sport carefully, you must know the difference when it is played indoors and outdoors. There is a huge difference in the equipment that is used in these two cases. Indoor lasertag is normally held in a large arena that is operated by a lasertag operator. Players can focus more in this kind of setting because they are enclosed inside a quarter with limited dimensions.

On the other hand, the outdoor equipment has a different design compared to the ones needed in playing inside a quarter. They are more designed to function in games that finish in longer periods with different weather conditions. That is why they are mostly made with higher output power and special fiber optics.

The players of this game have to wear some head sensors that are not heavy in order to receive some hits. Paintball fields can also accommodate tag players at present. The aim of this action is to give kids the chance to play tag since paintball is too dangerous for them.

Most theme parks also allow people to play laser tag in Dallas. There are also organizations that create tagging competitions worldwide. Moreover, there are also clubs that play the sport just for fun.
