About Jamison Monroe

Jamison established Newport Academy as a healing and education center that delivers caring help and that offers effective therapy for adolescents fighting narcotics abuse issues.

Despite a great private school education, as well as the love and support of family members, Jamison dealt with the pressure to receive excellent grades and do well in sports by getting addicted to Adderall, a doctor-prescribed drug that incorporates amphetamine and dextroamphetamine to stimulate the central nervous system. Today Jamison believes this medication is too readily available and overprescribed for any kind of signs that may show even a hint of attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD).

His road to recovery began after he was admitted to a treatment center that helped him by providing personalized, comprehensive and holistic treatment. The treatment plan, which allowed him to safely address his individual issues while balancing family therapy, would later become the inspiration for creating Newport Academy.

Teenager's Addictions

Jamison described how the misuse of prescription medicines was the first cause of teen fatalities. Teenagers either overdosed on the medication because of their mood enhancing effects or they included MAO inhibitors to assist them calm down from the consequences of central nervous system stimulants. The outcome of this risky drug interaction between stimulants and depressants could result in heart problem, hypertension, multiple organ failure, anxiety, and agitation. It could also result in death.

Jamison's work focuses on informing families how to better assist their kids with drug dependency problems-- including understanding that simply because a physician suggested a medicine, it was not necessarily a harmless choice. He even reviewed what parents can do to aid their teenagers when they were making risky choices. He offered the listening audience a lot of cutting-edge information about teen addiction.

In addition, Jamison provided a short description of the gender-specific, comprehensive therapy programs for teenagers given by Newport Academy. He described the program as a combination of the key variables necessary for successfully helping teenage boys and also girls who were dealing with mental stress, behavioral health and narcotics abuse issues.
