Reading To Your Child Before Birth

By Garcelina Duvantes

A lot of expectant moms still do not know that they should read to their child from they are in the womb. Reading to your developing baby is a great idea because your little baby starts to hear sound as early as eighteen to twenty weeks. So it is a wonderful idea to start reading to your baby at this time.

You can also get dad to read sometimes too so that the baby becomes even more familiar with his voice from within the womb, just imagine the familiarity and security your baby feels every time you read the same story over and over again.

You can read one book at first and let the baby become familiar with that, then you can expand your library to include more books. Mom and dad's voice is usually instantly recognizable at birth and especially mom's voice which is preferred above all others.

So take a trip to your nearby book shop for some assistance with choosing some brief but efficient classics. Some research was done in Amsterdam these researchers discovered that babies whose mothers watch a particular soap opera each day, usually had a tendency to know the theme song once they were born. Babies also cry in the accent of their native country.

So the fetus is studying from inside the womb. An additional reason that expectant mothers ought to read to their kids is the fact that researchers discovered that whilst the fetus begins hearing voices by 18 weeks the voices start off muffled, however the fetus hears their mother's voice loudly as it reverberates straight through her body.

The baby hears everything its mother says and always likes to hear her voice more than others when it is born. So don't hold back, start reading to your baby at about 18 weeks and start the learning. Your child will thank you for it later and you will have a child who has an above average appreciation for the language, reading and books, this can only help to make your child a better student once he or she is ready for kindergarten.
