Vegetable Nutrition Facts

Do not be afraid of vegetables, you just may be missing out on vitamins that your body needs from vegetables. Without vegetables your body cannot clean itself of toxins properly as it should. Vegetables have a huge part in helping us live a long healthy life, so start eating them.

Maybe the intensives that vegetables can give to you will make you want to start eating more of them. Vegetables are great for numerous reasons. The obvious reason is that they are low in fat and as I have been saying, they provide you with vitamins and minerals. Orange, green and yellow vegetables are high in many vitamins.

As in fruits, vegetables too are home for many antioxidants that; firstly, help protect the human body from oxidant stress, diseases and cancers, and secondly; help the body develop the capacity to fight against these by boosting immunity.

Additionally, vegetables are packed with soluble as well as insoluble dietary fiber known as non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) such as cellulose, mucilage, hemi-cellulose, gums, pectin...etc. These substances absorb excess water in the colon, retain a good amount of moisture in the fecal matter, and help its smooth passage out of the body. Thus, sufficient fiber offers protection from conditions like hemorrhoids, colon cancer, chronic constipation, and rectal fissures.

Vegetables are very important, and many see that from the fitness world to doctors. The nutrition that you can get from vegetables is amazing and much needed.

Having a diet that consist a lot of vegetables is also a good thing because you will lose weight. Vegetables are low in calories which are good and with such reduction; you metabolism speeds up and you lose weight.

As you have read, vegetables are your friends and something that you should really be eating a lot of so that you can become healthy and stay healthy. Vegetables have too many benefits for you not to add more of them in your diet.
